The Bedroom

The use of built-ins is as resourceful today as it was when the Shakers were building them in their dwellings. They offer an uncluttered appearance that allows for a great deal of storage space that is easy to clean.

The bed was hand-crafted with wide pine supported by maple corner posts featuring pineapple finials. It accommodates a standard mattress set and provides space underneath for storage.

The use of paint was widespread among the Shakers, and the colors throughout the house are indicative of those you might see in Shaker dwellings. The variety of colors developed and adopted by the Shakers is quite amazing. Color chips are available upon request.
